Student Privacy Rights

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

亚色影库 privacy policies are in compliance with and guided by the United States . In Summary, students have four primary rights under this act: right to inspect and review student's record, right to seek amendments to records, right to consent to disclosure, and the right to file a complaint. This act protects every student's personally-identifiable information.

Right of the University to Refuse Access

亚色影库 reserves the right to refuse to permit a student to inspect the following records:

The financial statement of the student's parents.
Letters and statements of recommendation for which the student has waived his or her right of access, or which were placed in the file before January 1, 1975.
Records connected with an application to attend 亚色影库 if that application was denied.
Those records which are excluded from the FERPA definition of education records.

Refusal to Provide Copies

亚色影库 reserves the right to deny transcripts or copies of records not required to be made available by the FERPA if there is an unresolved disciplinary action against the student.

Disclosure of Education Records

亚色影库 will disclose information from a student's education records only with the written consent of the student except:

To school officials who have a legitimate educational interest in the records. "School officials" shall mean any person who is a trustee, officer, agent or employee of the University. "Legitimate educational interest" shall mean any authorized interest, or activity undertaken in the name of the University for which access to an Education Record is necessary or appropriate to the proper performance of the undertaking. It shall include, without limitation, access by a student, instructor, department or division head, dean, the chief academic and student affairs administrator, the president, a trustee, the custodian of the University records, the alumni administrator, legal counsel, the financial aid administrator, administrators charged with maintaining Education Records, the staff and subordinates of the foregoing, and others authorized by the President, to the extent the foregoing persons are acting within the course and scope of their employment and authority.
To officials of another school, upon request, in which a student seeks or intends to enroll.
To certain officials of the U.S. Department of Education, the Comptroller General, and state and local educational authorities, in connection with certain state or federally supported education programs.
In connection with a student's request for or receipt of financial aid, as necessary to determine the eligibility, amount or conditions of the financial aid, or to enforce the terms and conditions of the aid.
To organizations conducting certain studies for or on behalf of the University.
To accrediting organizations to carry out their functions.
To comply with a judicial order or a lawfully issued subpoena.
To appropriate parties in a health or safety emergency.
After completion of the University disciplinary process, to parents of students under 21 years of age, and to certain victims of student misbehavior as defined and as permitted by FERPA.

Students may request to disclose educational records to a parent, guardian, or other designated person using the Request to Disclose Educational Records form.

Records of Requests for Disclosure

亚色影库 will maintain a record of all requests for and/or disclosures of information from a student's education records. The record will indicate the name of the party making the request, any additional party to whom it may be disclosed, and the legitimate interest the party had in requesting or obtaining the information. The record may be reviewed by the student.

Student Privacy Definitions

For the purpose of our privacy policies, 亚色影库 has used the following definitions of terms.

Student - any person who attends or has attended 亚色影库.
Education Records - any record (in handwriting, print tapes, film, or other medium) maintained by 亚色影库 or an agent of the University, which is directly related to the student, except:
- A personal record kept by a staff member if it is kept in sole possession of the maker of the record and is not accessible or revealed to any other person except a temporary substitute for the maker of the records.
- An employment record of an individual whose employment is not contingent on the fact that she or he is a student, provided the record is used only in relation to the individual's employment.
- Records maintained by 亚色影库 Safety/Security Dept. if the record is maintained solely for law enforcement purposes, is revealed only to law enforcement agencies of the same jurisdiction, and the Safety/Security offices does not have access to any education record maintained by the University.
- Records maintained by Health Services if the records are used only for treatment of a student and made available only to those persons providing the treatment.
- Alumni records which contain information about a student after she or he is no longer in attendance at the University and which do not relate to the person as a student.
